That being said, there is one annoying side effect of said Store Wars, and that’s launcher fatigue. Having multiple launchers for your games can get quite tiresome, and a frequent example of anti-consumerism in these platform exclusives. Being upfront, I only care about it on a philosophical level, in that I like to examine the arguments, but it has no bearing on my day-to-day gaming. The Store Wars of 2019 continue to bubble beneath the crust of the gaming industry - forever brewing into the next big shitstorm should someone dare to declare platform exclusivity. I finally tried it, and it’s a surprisingly gratifying experience. That level of polish is a huge factor in whether or not Galaxy will stick for a lot of people if you're going to make the switch, you want to know you aren't giving anything up.GOG, that other gaming platform, created a new launcher specifically to help everyone get all their games in one place. The import is so clean and detailed that to the layman it would be impossible to tell games aren't just native to the Galaxy launcher. It brings in all the metadata like box art and background images from the home launcher, as well as your achievements/trophies, stats like hours played, a leaderboard, and store info like Metacritic score, logline, and trailers. With just a click you can toggle between every launcher and see the games you own in each, the games you've recently played, or just the games you have installed. By default, Galaxy creates separate libraries for Owned, Recently Played, Installed, Subscriptions, and one for each of the accounts you've connected.
